Keeton Coffman

The new EP release The Ghost, shows songwriter Keeton Coffman's unique ability to cross genres seamlessly in this powerful group of radio friendly indie pop songs.

After performing and writing for The 71's, who found success in TV placements, were featured on news specials in Houston, and named best new band in Houston, Keeton went his own direction as a solo artist in
2013 and has been performing live and writing full time ever since.

The Ghost EP features an array of brilliant songwriting and unique structure and arrangement.

The first single "The Letter" is a catchy, up beat indie folk pop song that tells a classic love story.

The songwriter explains the questions posed by the song. "What does True Love do in the face of betrayal? What does True Love say to the now helpless heart that once wounded it? How far will True Love go to restore what once was?"

Another single "The Hunted And The Hunter ", is a fully orchestrated track with beautiful and addictive piano sections and a film score-like atmosphere to it.

"I wrote The Hunted And The Hunter as an allegory about my relationship (still in progress, no doubt) with my Creator. From a distance the concept of God terrifies me - it's difficult to trust what you don't fully know. And yet, as I follow His whispers His presence feels more like rain, and less like thunder. " says Keeton of the piece.

Though each song is disguised as a pop tune with catchy melody, elaborate yet accessible instrumentation, and Keeton's heartfelt and authentic vocal presentation... The songs are actually character portraits. Paintings of people caught in the middle of critical life experiences. Keeton Coffman consistently describes his writing process as initially journeying out to create fictional characters, and yet in hindsight, finding himself in each one.

In the last two years, Keeton has performed live in venues across Houston with such artists as Jessie Ware, William Beckett, Ellis Paul, David Ramirez, Daley, and Andrew Ripp.  He will be performing with “The Voice” finalist, Nicholas David in February 2015.

TO ENTER, CLICK HERE

Are you looking for an opportunity to further your music career? Unsigned Only is a unique international music competition designed for solo artists, bands, and singers who are not signed to a major label record company. Unsigned Only is looking for outstanding, talented artists - newcomers or veterans. Unsigned Only accepts both original and cover songs in all categories except the newly-added Screen Shot category.
Judged by a roster of celebrity notables, prizes include merchandise plus $10,000 cash to the overall Grand Prize winner and $1,000 to the First Place winner in each category. Prizes will also be awarded to Second Place winners in each category. Additionally, the Grand Prize winner will receive one-on-one mentoring from a group of upper echelon music industry executives, ranging from label presidents to heads of A&R. These are the people who make decisions about who gets signed, and this could make the difference in your career.
What is Screen Shot? Due to the huge success of last year's Screen Shot promotion, Unsigned Only has added Screen Shot as a category in the competition. Are you interested in getting your music in film, TV, video games, or advertising? Music placement has become an increasingly significant revenue source for musicians. Not only can it be a huge boost for an unsigned artist's career in terms of increasing exposure to a mainstream audience, but it can also increase revenue through upfront money, license fees, and performance royaltes. All finalists in this category will have their music judged by a group of music execs who are specifically looking for music to place in various projects. Additionally, the First Place winner will have the opportunity to directly network with and get advice from a minimum of five of the Screen Shot judges. Last year's Screen Shot winner, The Bicycle Mob, have already scored placements as a result of winning Screen Shot!
